Installation


To install this theme you must have a working version of WordPress.

If you need help by installation of WordPress, follow the instructions in WordPress Codex. Also here you can download the latest version of WordPress.

At first, after purchasing this theme please download the package from ThemeForest (to do this you must be logged in ThemeForest). Move your mouse over your ThemeForest login name in right top corner and then click Download. On the Downloads page you will find all the items that you have purchased. This theme will also be here.

In the next step click the Download > All files & documentation button and save package on your computer. Please unpack the entire package after downloading.

The Main Files includes these following files and folders:

  • Documentation folder - contains this document.
  • emporium.zip - Emporium theme (ZIP archive for installation).

You can install the theme one of two ways:

  1. Via FTP: Extract the emporium.zip file and upload the extracted folder to the /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.
  2. Via WordPress: Navigate to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme page. Select the emporium.zip file. Press the Install Now button to upload and install the theme.

After uploading the theme, you must activate it. Navigate to the Appearance > Themes page to activate the theme.

After the theme activating, go to Appearance > Install Plugins. Begin installing all required plugins. Please make sure that you have activated the plugins before starting using the theme.

After activated of the plugins go Theme Options and click Save Changes button once. Now you can see initial Emporium theme settings appear at front end.

Setting Up Front Page


To set up the Frontpage, you must first create a new page, you can do so by navigating to Pages > Add New. You can give this page a title of "Home" or "Homepage". Leave page content empty.

Please make sure that you selected the Homepage template from Page Attributes dropdown list on the right sidebar before click Publish button.

Finally, navigate to Settings > Reading and select "A static page" and assign the "Homepage" for "Homepage:" .

If you haven't applied these setting above, your homepage sections will not be displayed.

You can fill homepage with carousel, info boxes, banners, products carousels, brands carousel from Theme Options.

Go to Theme Options > Carousels > Main Carousel for setting main carousel for homepage. You can enter title, subtitle and upload image for each slide here. Finally, click Save Changes button.

Go to Theme Options > Homepage for display info bar like below:

First, you must set info box count, then you can enter icon, title and description for each info box. Finally, click Save Changes button.

If you want to display banners on Homepage, please go to Theme Options > Banners > Home Page Banners. First you must select banners layout, then upload image and enter title, description and link for each banner. Finally, click Save Changes button.

If you want to display brands carousel on Homepage, please go to Theme Options > Carousels > Brands Carouel. Upload image and enter link for each brand slide item. Finally, click Save Changes button.

You can disable/enable Homepage sections on Theme Options > Homepage :

Setting Up Blog


To set up the blog, you must create a new page, you can do so by navigating to Pages > Add New. You can give this page a title of "Blog" yet you do not have to include any content. Click Publish button.

Once you have created your new page, navigate to Settings > Reading and select "A static page" and assign the "Blog" for "Posts Page:"

You can also tailor the look of your blog page by going Theme Options.

If you haven't applied these setting above, your blog page will not be displayed.

After that you can create new blog posts.

Adding new posts works similar to standard WordPress Posts > Add New. All posts will be displayed on the blog page.

Emporium comes with 4 different post formats: Standard, Gallery, Video and Audio Posts. Please ensure that you have installed/activated the included plugin called Vafpress Post Formats UI. When you're creating a new post, choose what post format you'd like from the tab options below the text editor, and insert the necessary content.

Adding new page works similar to standard WordPress Pages > Add New. In right section you will find Page Attributes and from Template dropdown you can choose how your page will look: it can be Default (with sidebar) or Full Width. Note: Homepage template for only Homepage.

You can also add an image to your page (Featured Image section).

After installed and activated Contact Form 7 plugin, then you must create form in Contact > Contact Forms. For display contact form similar on Emporium demo please use following html structure:

Then copy shortcode and paste it on your Contact Page for display contact form.

Widgets


You can manage widgets on the Widgets page (Appearance > Widgets).

Emporium comes with 4 different custom widgets:

  1. Info Bar - Displays a vertical information boxex.
  2. Social Icons - This widget will display social media icons of your choosing from a variety of popular networks.
  3. Latest Posts - Displays selection of your latest posts from all categories or a specific category..
  4. Banner Widget - Displays a "Banner" widget. You can add text, image and url of banner.

Plugins


Emporium use some recommended plugins:

  1. WOOCS – Currency Switcher for WooCommerce - plugin that allows to the visitors and customers on your woocommerce store site switch currencies and optionally apply selected currency on checkout.
  2. YITH WooCommerce Compare - plugin allow you to compare in a simple and efficient way products on sale in your shop and analyze their main features in a single table.
  3. YITH WooCommerce Quick View - plugin allows your customers to have a quick look about products.
  4. YITH WooCommerce Wishlist - plugin gives your users the possibility to create, fill, manage and share their wishlists allowing you to analyze their interests and needs to improve your marketing strategies.

1. After installing and activation Currency Switcher for WooCommerce plugin go to Woocommerce > Settings and click Currency tab. Here you can set default currency, upload flags and etc. options for currency switcher.

2. After installing and activation YITH WooCommerce Compare plugin go to YITH > Compare and in General Settings select link from Link or Button dropdown. Then check Show button in products list. Finally click Save Changes button.

3. After installing and activation YITH WooCommerce Quick View plugin go to YITH > Quick View and in General Options remove Quick View Button Label, because theme will display icon instead of label. Finally click Save Changes button.

4. After installing and activation YITH WooCommerce Wishlist plugin, create new page with title My Wishlist, then go to YITH > Wishlist and select this page from Wishlist Page dropdown list. And for Position choose Use shortcode from dropdown list. Don't forget add wishlist shortcode to your My Wishlist page content. Finally click Save Changes button.

Translation


To translate this theme, I recommend using the .mo and .po files. These files work in pairs, so for each language you need to have 2 files with the same name but a different extension. For example, if you want to translate the theme into Turkish language, your files would be tr_TR.mo and tr_TR.po.

At first, you need to create these files. For this you need to use Poedit software which is very easy to use. You can download it here. After installation Poedit software, you need to run it. Then, in Poedit go to File > New from POT/PO file..., select and open the pot file from the "languages" folder (/languages/emporium.pot). After that you just need to select your language, add translation, and save your changes.

Now you have .mo and .po files with your translation, and all you need to do is upload these both files into the "languages" folder on your server (/wp-content/themes/emporium/languages/).
